Victorian House Renovation

This project involved the renovation and remodelling of a large Victorian property, restoring the property from a former guesthouse to create a family home.  This included the removal of fire corridors and lobbies from the stair and landings to restore the original Victorian staircase and balustrade, and the restoration of the proportions of the rooms removing various ancillary items.  A new family bathroom was created on the first floor, including a walk in shower, roll top bath and laundry chute leading to the kitchen below.

The existing chimney breast dividing the kitchen and dining spaces was removed to create an open plan kitchen diner, and the rear elevation opened up with large Crittall style glazed doors to provide daylight and direct access to the garden. A full height storage wall occupies the back of the kitchen, with walnut slatted doors hiding a large amount of custom designed storage.  The kitchen cabinets are to be hand painted to a blue-grey and further photos of the rest of the property will follow soon.
