Small Infill New Build

This self-build property was designed for a family with high design aspiration and a conservative budget.  The design involves a very simple form with a central staircase and wide hallway with rooms to either side to create a very efficient layout, making the house feel larger than the diminutive footprint suggests.

A glass corner connects the living space to a wrap-around garden, making the most of available daylight and views and enhancing the feeling of light and space.

An Ecodesign ready woodburning stove acts as a highly efficient secondary heat source, combined with simple yet efficient technologies including mechanical ventilation and heat recovery to make the house highly energy efficient and sustainable whilst keeping within a modest budget.
